Belle De Jour

When we visit La Salle last February for a seminar, one of JPMAP’s partner  is Belle De Jour, which is famous for their Pink Planners. Hehe. The gave away planners for extra bibbo students that will ask questions. Nobody is participating, my friends started their kalokohan and ask questions. When the planner was given, everybody was like, “Wow, ang ganda oh. Tanong din tayo.” Kids will always be kids.

Their mission is to craft tools that will help people live out their ultimate life. With Belle de Jour Power Planners, they envision products that empower Filipinos to try, to dare, to experience, to achieve, and to live. This has expanded to creating customized paper and planner products that influence the lifestyle of Filipinos.

Belle de Jour Power Planner is especially made for the Pinay fashionista achievers. The name Belle de Jour meaning “IT Girl” in French lingo, was coined by Darlyn Ty and her friend, Trisha Andres. This has been expanded to define “the modern-day renaissance woman who dares to achieve her goals, lives her dream life, makes a difference in her community, while doing everything in great style”.

I got one because my friends insist me to ask a question so we can all have the same planner. The planner was cute though but I prefer my Velvet Starbucks planner. :) I scanned the whole planner and men it is good! It’s just too pink and kikay for me. The articles, tips, and other stuff made it even better.

You can easily label your to-do-list in a day. And each week you will see inspiring quotations or sayings. Look at the upper right corner of the picture below.

A page of Project Planner is also provided.

Cash flow tracker to help you spend your cash wisely! :)

They also provide pages for you to write your own goals for the year 2011.

For me the best thing with this planner are the articles, tips/advises. I enjoyed reading them in just one seating and forgot that they should be good for one year. Haha

Health Checklist, I badly need this page.

Menstrual tracker is one of the best thing inside! Because I’m too lazy to mark my phone calendar and sometimes I forgot to prepare if i will have my monthly visit. Ugh

When April hits, summer it is! Oh I just love vacation :) And having Vacation planner is a good way to start it off.

Habit tracker?  Haha

Love quotes, inspirational quotes are all over the planner!

And for people who just love discounts and sale like me. The coupon page is just for us!

I love the Ace water Spa coupons! I think I used up all the CoffeeBean coupon. Hehe

The coupons are from store that I know you would love too! They also have coupon for about 6 famous online stores. Which i will be using sooner or later. :)

Photo credits to Flaircandy.com because my planner has already notes all over it because it’s my official planner and I don’t want to put it here. I’m too shy. Hehe. The planner will cost you around Php 500++. I’m not really sure because it was a reward! I wanted to have one next year but I lost the page where my pin is located so I can activate my membership, too bad. :(

You can check National Book Store and other Bookstores if you wanted to do a post planner. It’s still April, you still have 8 months to fill it up with good thoughts, plans, and experiences! For those people who are too lazy to go to a store, check their website Belle De Jour to order online, it’s free delivery by the way.

M.A.C Magic

I am actually working and rendering OJT at the same time. No wonder why i got Pimples on my face, Eyebags and tired bod.

I really admit that this pimples is staying for awhile now. I don’t use face creams, but I use Garnier. To make it short, i am not that vain when it comes to my face, i’m even used to baby powder, but not now anymore.

Its been awhile since i actually woke up to the fact that baby powder is a mess and pressed powder is not good.

And i just recently got my M.A.C Mineralized SPF 15 Foundation/Loose (Medium plus)

With the use of my M.A.C, i can easily hide them for awhile. :)

Sorry for the cropped pictures!

It’s a relief actually. And i should better have a remedy for my growing pimples. Anyone knows? :( I don’t want to have these for long. It’s really itchy and bothering, you know. :(

6 Cancer-fighting Superfoods

Broccoli

All cruciferous veggies (think cauliflower, cabbage, kale) contain cancer-fighting properties, but broccoli is the only one with a sizable amount of sulforaphane, a particularly potent compound that boosts the body’s protective enzymes and flushes out cancer-causing chemicals, says Jed Fahey, ScD. A recent University of Michigan study on mice found that sulforaphane also targets cancer stem cells—those that aid in tumor growth.

Berries

All berries are packed with cancer-fighting phytonutrients. But black raspberries, in particular, contain very high concentrations of phytochemicals called anthocyanins, which slow down the growth of premalignant cells and keep new blood vessels from forming (and potentially feeding a cancerous tumor), according to Gary D. Stoner, PhD, a professor of internal medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Helps fight: colon, esophageal, oral, and skin cancers

Tomatoes

This juicy fruit is the best dietary source of lycopene, a carotenoid that gives tomatoes their red hue, Béliveau says. And that’s good news, because lycopene was found to stop endometrial cancer cell growth in a study inNutrition and Cancer. Endometrial cancer causes nearly 8,000 deaths a year.

Walnuts

Their phytosterols (cholesterol-like molecules found in plants) have been shown to block estrogen receptors in breast cancer cells, possibly slowing the cells’ growth, says Elaine Hardman, PhD, associate professor at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia.

Garlic

Phytochemicals in garlic have been found to halt the formation of nitrosamines, carcinogens formed in the stomach (and in the intestines, in certain conditions) when you consume nitrates, a common food preservative, Béliveau says. In fact, the Iowa Women’s Health Study found that women with the highest amounts of garlic in their diets had a 50 percent lower risk of certain colon cancers than women who ate the least.

Beans

A study out of Michigan State University found that black and navy beans significantly reduced colon cancer incidence in rats, in part because a diet rich in the legumes increased levels of the fatty acid butyrate, which in high concentrations has protective effects against cancer growth. Another study, in the journal Crop Science, found dried beans particularly effective in preventing breast cancer in rats.
